Introduction
The 50km Cordillera Mountain Ultra turns around Mt. Ugo in Benguet. Topping out at 2150m it features long ridge lines covered in Pine forests as well as superb views of the West Philippine sea, the entire Agno River Valley as well as the Cagayan Valley of Nueva Vizcaya. The event has grown into one of the most popular in Asia Trail Master over the years and a cult event in Asia throughout. While shorter distances are also available in this event, the 50 km – officially 47,5 km – is a great opportunity for beginning trail runners to get a taste of ultra or mountain running. It is tough, yet not excessively so.

Fly to Clark if you can to cut the bus journey to Baguio by half. Hong Kong and Singapore have flights to Clark. Alternative is Manila, from where many busses leave for Baguio, some of which direct. V Liner has been sponsor of the event for years. Stay tuned for details. V Liner offered direct busses from Manila for runners.

Accommodation: CMU has the custom of having its participants staying in local village guesthouses. Alternatively, you can stay in Baguio City but be aware it takes 45 minutes at least to reach Tinongdan in the early morning before the race start.
